Digital Signage Mxlokk

Digital Wayfinding at Marsaxlokk

Traditional meets digital in the typical fishing village of Marsaxlokk, Malta. As part of a services upgrading project in this picturesque village in the south of Malta, the Ministry of Tourism has inaugurated a dedicated tourist information office to meet the needs of the thousands of tourists that come to visit this fishing village everyday.

Cyberspace Solutions has been commissioned to design and install an outdoor digital signage wayfinding information system.  The location of this outdoor unit was quite challenging since it is situated along the shoreline next to the fishing boats. The very exposed environment meant that the unit would be continually exposed to sea spray and salt apart from the normal outdoor elements.

The G6 Infinitus Digital Signage outdoor digital signage unit chosen for this project is hermetically enclosed and provides an advanced all-in-one full outdoor (sun exposed) LCD digital unit. The curved curved aesthetic aluminum mask, offers a high quality finish to this outdoor unit.

Cyberspace Solutions also took care of creating the interactive content on the info unit. Tourists can interact with the unit to plan walks in the area, find out information about historical and important landmarks as well as find useful information about the area. Following the very positive response of users, content on the unit  will be increased to cover more regions in the south of Malta.

Din L-Art Helwa – Our Lady of Victory

Cyberspace Solutions is proud to have been involved in one of the most prestigious restoration projects in Malta. Our Lady of Victories Church was the first church and building completed in Valletta. In 1566, after the end of The Great Siege of Malta of 1565.

We have helped Dinl-Art Helwa the Maltese NGO responsible for the preservation and restoration of this priceless heritage building to apply for EU funding to finance some of the restoration projects activities for the Our Lady of Victories Church in Valletta.

As part of the project we have been tasked with creating various multimedia experiences:

  1. A multilingual audio guide interpretation system for visitors, touch screen interpretation panels. This project included the scripting, voiceover recordings for the different languages as well as the editing and mastering of the voiceovers with sound effects and background music. Cyberspace also supplied the audio guide units themselves.
  2. Project website and ticketing booking system.
  3. Interactive wheelchair friendly info kiosk, digital signage, showing the timeline of the church
  4. A 10 minute video documentary in English and Maltese which is shown in the media room of the annex next door to the OLV church.
  5. Various signage, and design and printing of large format graphics in various areas of the church and annex.
  6. We are currently in the process of digitising the archives of this church to transfer to touch panels designed specifically for this purpose.
