Dating back to around 1430, the Chapel of Santa Marija ta’ Bir Miftuh  is one of Malta’s best-preserved 15th-century parish churches. Once a parish serving multiple villages, it features unique medieval frescoes, including a striking depiction of The Last Judgement. Managed by Din l-Art Ħelwa since 1970.

The chapel has undergone significant restoration, ensuring its preservation. The chapel hosts the annual Bir Miftuh International Music Festival and remains an important cultural site. Visitors can admire its architecture, historic frescoes, and serene surroundings, making it a hidden gem of Malta’s rich heritage.
